Unit Plan Progress

 Questions and Ideas: At this point, I don’t really have any questions. If I am being fully transparent, I haven't thought about this project a whole ton yet other than narrowing down my ideas. I have been swamped with other schoolwork and have had a hard time fitting this project into my time. I need to prioritize this project over the weekend and into next week for sure. 

Grade Level: I think this unit could be suitable for students in grades 5-7 but specifically for this assignment, I will focus my attention on 6th grade. 

Standards that my unit connects with: Below is a sample list of standards that I feel at this point could connect to my unit in some way through the activities and reading. 

6.4.1.1 Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

6.4.3.3 Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

6.7.3.3 Write narratives and other creative texts to

develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.

6.9.1.1 Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 6 topics, texts, and issues, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly.

6.11.6.6 Acquire and use accurately grade-appropriate general academic and domain-specific words and phrases; gather vocabulary knowledge when considering a word or phrase important to comprehension or expression.

How it’s going: As I said above, I haven’t really gotten to work on this project yet as I have had very little time with things going on in all of my other classes. I really need to make some time to get to work on this project before it gets to be too late!
